picture of ground breaking

Pleasant Hill Community Service Volunteer Day, 9/15/07 was (literally) the garden groundbreaking day.  With an initial grant from the City of Pleasant Hill, Mt. Diablo Adult Education Gardening Program students and their teacher, Monika Olsen, could visualize the water conservation demonstration healthy garden become a reality.

Boy Scout Troops 405 and 421, students and other volunteers laid wheelchair-accessible paths allowing middle school children and others to walk to school safely through the garden. And for his Eagle Scout Project, Sam Fugate provided vehicle barriers around the perimeter of the garden.
